Yet another lawsuit was launched for infringement of Seoul Semiconductors' intellectual property rights: this time a leading South Korean manufacturer of lighting products takes SATCO to court.
In the official complaint the plaintiff indicated that SATCO violates “eleven” patents of Seoul — including US Patent 7,081,722, US Patent 9,807,828, US Patent 8,513,899, and US Patent 8,716,946 — by selling various LED lighting products such as fluorescent lamps and incandescent lamps in luminaires.
Seoul's patented technology covers products with linear drivers for direct control of LEDs at home, with "step" mode operation for flicker-free light generation, and also with dimmable drivers for implementation of intelligent lighting.

Their Acrich NanoDriver series devices took first place as a Sapphire Award nominee in the “Microcircuits and Electronic Components for Solid-State Lighting” category. And — according to Seoul's experts — the scope of Acrich applications will only continue to expand because this technology is suitable for almost 70% of household lamps in the global market.
“Unfair competition that manifests in copying of innovative products should stop. Only then will others, including young entrepreneurs and small businesses, be able to gain recognition for their talents in the market.”
Today, Seoul Semiconductor has more than 12000 patents in total, among which 250 are for LED driver technology solutions. Such achievements are gained through unceasing innovative development of the company and the desire to grow and progress.
