Layer 3 routing support

RIP can use the number of hops as a routing metric and prevent routing loops by imposing a limit on the number of hops allowed on the path from source to destination.
OSPF is an internal dynamic routing protocol for an autonomous system based on link state. The protocol builds a link state database by exchanging link states between Layer 3 switches and then uses the Shortest Path First algorithm to build a routeing table based on this database.

The XGS-6320 series can be programmed for advanced switch management functions such as dynamic port link aggregation, Q-in-Q VLAN, Multiple Spanning Tree Protocol (MSTP), Layer 2/4 QoS, bandwidth management, and IGMP/MLD snooping. The XGS-6320 series offers a comprehensive access control list (ACL) from level 2 to level 4 for security at the edge. It can be used to restrict network access by rejecting packets based on source and destination IP address, TCP/UDP port number, or certain common network applications.
