Since 2000, MEAN WELL has been continuously producing new DIN rail type power supplies and accessories. Today, this line of products has already quite diverse and has won a significant market share. In response to the rapid development of complex building architecture, the governments of Europe, the US and China have announced new regulations for security and fire protection systems (EN54-4/ UL2524/ GB17945). MEAN WELL started production of new "smart" power supplies for the DRS-240 and DRS-480 series to meet the needs of the huge market.
The most attractive feature of DRS-240 and DRS-480 is their multifunctionality, which includes AC/DC converter, battery charger, DC-UPS and communication protocols in one compact case. In addition, they have a wide input voltage range of 90~305 VAC, making them suitable for use in all parts of the world. The novelties have a built-in MODBus communication interface, and the charging parameters can be controlled via the SBP-001. The 2-/3-step charging curve and charging current level (20%～100%) can also be manually adjusted using the switch on the front panel. The DRS-240 and DRS-480 can be used with lead-acid and lithium batteries. The novelty is perfect for a fire safety system, emergency lighting, access control systems, etc.
