With 5G market trends and smart home technologies, digital lighting and building automation systems, as well as ways to effectively integrate all lighting systems simultaneously and combine management in a building automation system are attracting more and more attention. MEAN WELL has engaged in research and development in the field of building automation and released a new digital lighting controller of the DLC-02 series to provide the necessary equipment to this industry. Brand new controller is capable of controlling the DALI Digital and KNX digital lighting system and complies with all DALI-2 standards. DLC-02-KN (KNX-DALI gateway) is freely integrated into the KNX building automation system; the developer can choose the product according to the scale of the project.
DLC-02 series by MEAN WELL corresponds to the Class II. These AC/DC converters are executed in isolated plastic cases with fastening on a DIN rail (width of 144 mm) and can be quickly established in a junction box for easy integration with other products of building automation. New series complies with the new DALI-2 standards (Control unit - Part103) and provides two outputs for DALI bus output and has a built-in DALI bus power supply with a maximum output current of 250 mA. Each output can be connected to a maximum of 64 luminaires (Control unit - Part 102/207) and 12 wall switches or sensors (Input device - Part 301 ~ 304). In addition, the DLC-02 series integrates the latest DALI-2 relay control function (Part-208), which can control electrical devices (e.g. electric curtain drive). The customer can set the schedule of automatic control of luminaires and perform the entire procedure using the built-in timer function. The installer can easily configure lighting scenes and group control with the DLC-02 or select the DLC-02-KN for efficient integration of building automation systems using the KNX protocol.
DLC-02 series can be combined with any suitable DALI-2 and KNX certified products. Therefore, after all devices have been installed, the DLC software should be used to adjust the groupings and light scenes for the luminaires connected to the DALI bus. In addition, the RJ45 interface and LCD display also make it easy to check functions and settings. The DLC-02 series meets the requirements of DALI IEC62386-101 / 103/207/208/301/302 / 303/304 and has received international safety certificates, including EN61347 / 63044 and EMC EN55015 / 61547 / 63044. All this makes DLC-02 the ideal lighting controller. which is the basic infrastructure of a digital lighting system.
