DC-UPS modules of the DR-UPS40 series from MEAN WELL have been on the market for 15 years. To provide a more cost-effective solution for power redundancy, MEAN WELL has launched mass production of a new generation of DC-UPS modules of the DUPS20 and DUPS40 series. To provide backup power the DC-UPS connects to a power source and an external battery.
The main function of the DUPS20 and DUPS40 is to monitor the output voltage as well as charge the battery to ensure the continuous operation of the system. The operating time depends on the load and battery capacity. As soon as the mains supply disappears, the load will be immediately connected to the battery, which will avoid shutting down the system equipment and, thereafter, data and financial losses due to equipment downtime. MEAN WELL DC-UPS modules are suitable for use in production automation, semiconductor manufacturing equipment, security systems, emergency systems, data centers and other areas where uninterruptible power supply is required.
