MEAN WELL is pleased to present brand new 3 and 6 W models of power modules for medical equipment, that are joining their already popular MDS01, MDS02, MDD01, MDD02 and MDD15 / 20 series. The latest addition to the specialized lineup includes MDS03 / MDS06 and MDD03 / MDD06 DC / DC converters, with single-channel and dual-channel outputs respectively. The key features of these four new series are: miniature size 1.25" x 0.8", ultra-wide input voltage range "4:1", wide operating temperature range from -40 to + 90 °C, low leakage current <5 μA and enhanced insulation 2xMOPP / 4KVac / 6KVdc.
Due to IEC60601-1 (the medical safety standard) certification the use of DC / DC converters of the MDS03 / 06 and MDD03 / 06 series increases the overall level of insulation of medical equipment and reduces leakage current of the equipment in contact with a patient's body. These are such medical devices as, for example, electrosurgical units, oximetric monitors (for oxygen levels in blood), mobile medical stations, surgical monitors and dental equipment.
MEAN WELL already has a full line of AC / DC converters of medical grade and with the release of these four series of DC / DC converters, the company will become even more competitive in this market. Today, the manufacturer is able to offer power solutions for two-tier systems (AC / DC + DC / DC).
